I thought you weren't allowed to build your own CU's because it won't qualify for the fairytale 'type tested' kA rating that's bestowed upon the pre manufactured units.
It's not that we are not allowed to build our own, just that in some cases if we do, we have to ensure each componant is rated to withstand the PFC.
Re-configuring a CU should not affect it's conformity to type testing.
