I don't think this as been done before, so as the title suggest's! what has been the most enjoyable job you have done to date, not for profit etc, but purely for enjoyment and satisfaction.
I think there could be some good replies here regarding locations etc.

I would say mine was one of many installations relating to the installation of Granutech ( American company ) Tyre shreddder systems

the job was down in cerne abbas Dorchester, a beautiful part of the country.
Job involved;
design and building of control panels, including interconnection of the americans panels (always massive panels with not a lot in them )
installation of containment, traywork
isolators and motor connections
safety circuits
Commisioning the sysytem with the friendliest texan you could meet ( Mark ) who drank black coffee by the bucket load

Also the 16th century Inn we stayed in was beautiful, Great host Mike, great food and hospitality.

I genuinley didn't want to come home.

Now i know my example won't be the most exotic, excitng or technical work but it was one of my favourite's.

So what was yours!

A weeks secondment to a motor manufacture. We were buying a 2500HP motor from them so they offered a training course on motor maintenance. Gets to their works to be told the lads you need to see are all on a job do you want to join them?

A week of dangling my toes in Loch Fyne, supposedly working on Clachan pumped storage plant. The Cairndow Temperance Hotel was anything but temperance and would now appear to be the Cairndow Stagecoach Inn.

I’ve stayed at Birmingham’s Temperance Hotel a couple of times, got blind drunk there as well.

Some great stories Guy's keep them coming.

Last place I worked was for a government run agency as maintenance electrician. Spent more time on courses than working including a weeks manufacturers "training course" in Austria. Basically turned into a sight seeing trip with much beer and food thrown in. Best place I ever worked until the austerity measures kicked in and the overtime stopped.

It was known as the Cobden hotel in those days, now called the quality hotel on the Hagley road

I am looking forward to replies from a few certain members, Tony, Eng54, Darkwood, Telectrix to name a few

Really sorry to disappoint you, but i'd say it would be easier to pick out the least enjoyable project(s) i've worked on.

Probably the first job that gave me a real feeling of satisfaction was a overhead ring rail system that took car skips from a floor level production line to a raised level production line via tractor hoist units. Worked on that system from conception to installation. all based around controllable live a dead section busbar track rails with two hoist control positions, complete with a maintenance area and spare tractor hoist.... The day it was first switched on, the only remedial work needed was a few small adjustments to some of the position sensors.... About the most enjoyable time i remember in the 2 1/2 years i spent in the companies engineering design office... lol!!

Whenever a company includes the word ''Quality'' into it's brand name, it generally means, it's anything but quality!! ...lol!!

The most memorable business name that i can still remember is from a shoe shop in Hong Kong just of Nathan Road, called ''Lee Kee Boots & Shoes'' (leaky boots & shoes) ...And it's still there to this day...lol!!

Nope it's a dump!

But the quality name is the well known quality brand
