Mounting a flood light on a tree!?

Have a client who is asking for a floodlight to be mounted on a tree to light up a car park. The tree is well established. Having conflicting thoughts on this, has anyone done it and if so how.

..... strange though as the other five birches they have are all doing very well, only the two with spots fitted are dying.

Many possibilities , would be interesting to have expert looking for other damage !
Opportunistic insects , fungus , or even leakage currents !

in 2008, I went to a faulty Son flood. bracket just screwed to tree, been there several years. I replaced with a metal halide unit, screwed the same. 10 years later, tree and light still working as normal. what's all the fuss about?
