Discuss Moving cables and sockets/switches over insulation in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net
You'll have to give some more info! Is it that you have an existing wall with existing cable and socket, and that you're basically just adding insulation over the top?Hi,
I'm about to reroute cables and sockets/switches from the ceiling down to the socket height after insulating a wall.
I understand this will derate the cable, so what it the best way to do this please?
EDIT: Should be in DIY

Just saying
Hi J,nothing to worry about unless the cables are buried under the insulation.
if they are on top then no problems
Hi D,Welcome aboard. I'll stay out of the advice but I'm here if you need a hand merging those two accounts? Do you have access to both now? if so, let me know which one you want to keep and I'll merge the other one.
