Got to replace a CU and move it off the ground in a shop, would it be acceptable to mount the CU on the wall in the void between the ceiling and suspended ceiling
The only problem I can see are the meter tail being borderline 3 metres.

Thanks.

Whatever you do DON'T move it above a suspended ceiling, its a complete pig if there's a fault and something trips out! My missus dad's just moved into a place and there are 2 cu's above a suspended ceiling in the downstairs toilet! The other night the rcd kept tripping so i went to investigate and typically the circuit in question was in the least accesible of the two because some clever sod only made it so one tile could come out as there was a light screwed through the others next to it, i damn nearly lost it and tore the lot down!!

If it was put above the ceiling you can just imagine some electrician in years to come searching in the dark not thinking that some one would put a DB above a ceiling.
A house that I do work in you have to take the clothes out the wardrobe remove a panel and stretch your arm in just to get to reset the main RCD.

I renovated a entertainment complex over the christmas period, and the client asked me if i could put the 3phase DB above the newly suspended ceiling 'out of the way' when it was perfectly fine in its location behind the mini-bar in the staff area.

Comonsense has gone me thinks when it comes to electrical E54 lol.
