Got to replace a CU and move it off the ground in a shop, would it be acceptable to mount the CU on the wall in the void between the ceiling and suspended ceiling
The only problem I can see are the meter tail being borderline 3 metres.

Yes but still learning, not as experienced as some of the guys on here.

Have seen a few CU's installed this way and not sure if it was acceptable. Can't put CU in the middle of a shelving unit on show as not enough depth to hide it, looks like staying where it is 2 inches off the floor, is the best option.

Common sense prevails.

There are lots of customer who ask for "daft" things, whilst you might like to earn some money, there are times when you have to say NO, and explain why.

never in my life have i seen a consumer unit mounted above a lowered ceiling between the original ceiling , partly because it HIDDEN LOL

i have loads of times.
usually in commercials where the suspended ceiling has been added years after the db was fitted.
i think its preferable to 3inches of the floor but its unlikely anyone will agree , not that i give a f***.
