Hi all,

Moving a socket on a ring 30cm sideways. Depending on how the cables come in, was going to through crimp the t & e, heat shrink over it and put it in some capping/oval conduit, bury in wall and then plaster over.

This sound acceptable?

If as mentioned at the start, the cables for the socket are coming in from the side and not above and the socket is to ‘move’ to the right 30 or so cm, then the cables will still be in the safe zone, so is there any issue with through crimping, heat shrinking and putting in a bit of capping before plastering over
If they are Run horizontally from the left. Fine. If they are run horizontally from the right. Even better.

if one in from left and one in from right. Fine.

if one from right and another down or up. Not Fine.

most sockets are fed to top or bottom.

until you know this you won’t know if it can or cannot be done.
