Hi all,

I stumbled accross this clip while looking at some electrical bits on you tube :-
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txwvLMc7X54]YouTube - Mr Electric Domestic Electrician[/ame]

Lol, is it me or are the procedures they expect you to go through just a little bit over the top !!
I dont mean to offend anyone who has a Mr Electric franchise, but i personally would feel like a right prat going through that routine every time i went into a customers house !!

What do you lot think ?

HAhahahahahahahahahaha..........

I just love the (unused) diagnostic bag, the flying carpets and the 'technicians' great clean uniform and hairstyle!

And I am sure DS will soon be along to stick up for this organisation as he has some strong loving!!!!

Its funny, almost cringe worthy.

BUT Mr Electric is a brand success. People are buying into it. They're make money from a breed of up-market folk who don't mind paying the higher premium.

...... Intelligent business you could call it.

wouldnt it be interesting to find out the differance in price if MrsJones would prefer scruffy Mick coming doing the 11/2 hr job including his cuppa and a quick scan for safty issues in1 1/2hrs n charging1 1/2 hrs or MrJulian ramsbottom Electric coming spending 1/2hr introducing himself n setting down his wee carpet 1 1/2hr doing job n 1/2hr trying to sell ehr some other service all at an already inflated hourly rate no wonder watchdog slag off somepeople

LOL at the video. I used to work for Mr Electric Franchise and i hated it had to do all the stuff in the video oh i cringe working in the loft on a summer day in shirt and tie.TBO todays market people want a competitive price ( to change that pendant would be bout £95 it would take you an hour by the time you done the routine). We had hardly any rewires through because of the prices. However Im sure there are some people who have succeeded with it but costs ££££££.I also had to price jobs out of hours for no pay , call outs etc all for £6.30hr.
Dont mean to offend anybody who has one of these franchises it just my personal oppinon but it didnt work for us and now my ex-boss is just on his own(previously had 3 sparks). But I Hope other people are doing well with the franchise.

wondered when this would re-surface...!!

i cant mention to much as remember what happened last time i got threatened with court action..! tut tut,

any way MR ELECTRIC last time i smelt it was reaking of Bull Droppings..!!

i never got issued a MAT well i dont think i did as i never used it! also my shirt was horrendous and made me sweat like a sewer rat on bin day...! i wore a red Polo Shirt as most my jobs bar 2 were HOMESERVE insurance jobs! it had Mr electric and Homeserve logos on it!

my diagnostic tool bag had been pillaged by the previous employee and i had to make do with my VDE set and Higher quality tools i bought my self..! (dont really want to die with cheap stuff)

my van was red as it was graphic up with home serve stuff and only a tiny Mr Electric Graphic on door!
the yellow vans (bannana vans) look stupid :) and i belive the true colour of one van was metalic blue! lol but it got vinyl wrapped for about 2k!!

mr electric franchises dont really make any money from the brand! well not my outfit i worked for! it was mainly insurance work via home serve and if you had the chance to sell a job while there than happy days but like i said bread and butter was home serve!!

think i sold 7 private jobs or somit compared to 80 or so home serve call outs!!

blue over shoes!! what are they! never got issued and i looked a pratt with that big Sales "MENU"

sory for rambling on but as mentioned before each franchise is different..! couple of good sparks still work for Tees Valley outfit but they only there due to poor job availability in hard times..! :(

sorry if its not the usual outburst but check my post in sparky pub for latest Mr electric ccok ups..!! :):)

time is money so the longer he spends opening and closing, cleaning and explaining ans signing and talking **** the more he gets.

my way is make apointment, go there, question the customer about the issue, a few tests, find fault, go to store,( stay around the corner, just kidding ) get part if i dont carry, job done, word of mouth goes a long way. im busy pretty much all the time. just a quick question, how much do u lot charge per day r hour, i do 40 per hour or 160 per day, customer pays any parking or other transport costs, ie london congestion
