Multitool help

Hey guys, so I've decided to splash out on a Fein. My only problem is deciding whether to go for the 110V or the battery operated one.

Are there any of you that have experience with both and can tell me if there is a difference in power? Anyone know what the batteries are like?

I'm looking for pros and cons really.

Cheers :)

not tried the battery ones, got the 110v. depends if it's only small jobs or not. it's a bit of a pain getting the 110 and tranny out just to cut out for 1 socket in a studded wall, but if you've got a few to do, go for the 110v

Corded here too, battery life on the cordless is poo to say the least.

Got the Bosch 230v equivalent, any one know if they do a 110v version?

The length of a charge is not really a concern, just how well the batteries are made.

My main concern is the difference in power, if any, between the two.

My concern with anything "battery powered" is what happens when the batteries are u/s and obsolete yet the tool is still good. I know you can get packs "re-cell'd" but how many of us bother?
If you are mainly on your own doing domestic then 230v imo to avoid carting a the tranny around, 110v if you do a lot of site work.

not only that, but how much work will a battery one do before requiring a charge. then you've got to wait for it to charge up, go for a smoke or 3, more expense.

Got the bosh version in 240V, sorry 230V! Even the rep told me not to buy the cordless!
I've got the battery version, good kit, but really fancy the new 230v version, 300w motor and tool-less blade change. Dont fancy the price tho....

Hmm, mind's made up. Gonna go for the 110. Originally fancied the cordless but after your comments, I think the corded is a much wiser choice! Cheers chaps :)

Blades is the thing you need to look out for, genuine fein ones are around £15 each!!!

I get mine off the bay, £3 a pop and they do last well enough.

b&q do a few odd bosch ones , not cheap though.
