Whilst it is useful to have this forum as a resource isn't slightly worrying that your customers read it?

simple simon, i see your from slogh, the car nicking capital of england... cops with cameras (source)

customers will search everywhere and anywhere if they want too... its like you when you buying something you have a nosey around the web to get an idea..

I do worry that it's very easy to be misunderstood over the interwebs and that not all comments are written the way they are read.

There was a user on a thread a while back that I was a little sharp with (long days, paperwork nights ;) ) I later realised he shared a name with a potenial customer, fortunalty the user was a long way away and hopefully not the same guy - hate to lose a job for a loose random comment!

Don't write anything if you have had a long day then...
Personally I think its a good thing that customers can see what a **** shambles this industry is, they then put their trust in me to wade through it all.

Yeah, there are areas of the forum that aren't visible to customers but it's always worth remembering that whatever you post on the Internet has the potential to haunt you for the remainder of your born days.

I'd rather stand by my opinions and say what I think. Sadly, I have very little filter between what I think, and what I say, but at least it's honest!
And couldn't give a monkeys what my customers might think of me ;)

Speaking as as customer, I find this forum to be a very useful source of learning and makes me appreciate what great lengths you installers are willing to go to in order to satisfy your customers.

And the great stress the governments' rapid rule change is causing.

Fortunately, again thanks to this forum, I found out about the rule change early on and my system is now installled and running.

So, you good installers have nothing to be concerned with keeping the forum free to view for everyone.

Ditto. Also speaking as a customer.

I have a much better understanding of what you are going through from reading this forum, and I both sympathise and are impressed by how you are 'coping'.

I would suggest, tho', that you all join the 'lounge' area just in case you have a particularly bad day. Yeah, I know - that's everyday...

To be honest, I often point customers to this forum and advise them to do a little bit of their own research. Its a big investment and they're far less likely to get conned (and lets be honest, there are plenty of dodgy firms out there) if they have had a read of this forum first.
