Follow manufactures instructions.....I fit the power 1 and it states quite clearly.....

The detection of leakage currents that could be present in AC lines requires an additional external device.
For the AC line protection, with reference to the German standard VDE100-712, if the PV or Wind inverter
isn’t able to inject direct current to ground (i.e. isn’t able to leak direct current), it is not required to install a
B-type RCD. For this reason, it is not required to install a B-type RCD at the output of an Aurora Inverter.

Cant help thinking we are getting a bit confused as to what a B type rcd is and where its needed..........

This is getting away from the OP's question, but that reg does NOT require an rcd for TLs. It says that where there is an rcd providing fault protection by ADS on a TL system then it should be type B.

But back to the question. You MAY need an rcd, but if you do not need one then my recommendation would be go without.

well before it came to my attention ie this forum! my job was inspected by niceic and was on rcd side of board! never picked up!! swopped it now !! but it must depend on the inspector!!
I think connecting to a shared RCD is still an issue because of nuisance tripping.
Also the overunning of the inverter is not the only problem. there is a problem with the nature of the currents set up by the inverter which may delay or even prevent tripping.
I don't pretend to understand the technicalities of this but there is some good info on Sibberts website

If you read the manufacturers instructions on most inverters of 3kW+ they recommend a 100ma RCD. Now, I have only had a problem once on a 30ma RCD, and tend to use them, but not for the RCD properties but as the main switch on the sub board, but, if you attach it to the household RCDs then you don't comply under the requirements to avoid nuisance tripping as you haven't followed the manufacturers instructions and there may be increased tripping.

So sharing an RCD is a nono even before you get into all the discussions on here about trip times etc.
