My course is through OLCI, i paid out the full amount (stupidly) and i am looking at losing something out of it due to administration. I have learnt a lesson though and it's something that won't ever happen again.
I have been training for two years to gain my qualifications and i have 6 months work experience working on sites and on the tools so i have gained a lot through that. I'm almost at the end of the theory side and just about ready to start the log book so i'm hoping that i can finish that side of things with the new owners of OLCI.
Having worked with sparks i can safely say that hands on experience is far better for you than sitting in a classroom all day. If i could turn back the clock i would have waited the few months to get into my local college (one way or another) and saved myself a few thousand quid in the process.
It's only money i suppose but it still stings when things like administration are thrown into the mix.
This is why i have told the people at OLCI that i would never advocate their company in a positive light ever again after my experiences historically with them and now that i'm facing losing out somewhere along the way, it seems to justify my stance from the outset.
I agreed with a certain employee at the company that i would refrain from posting anything bad about the company and i have since maintained that stance, however saying anything factual is still above board and is not something i'm constrained with.
As far as the work outlook goes, it looks like once i have gained my level 3 certificate i will be looking for an employer or potentialy starting out on my own as a competent person to finish the NVQ and get past my trade test. It's been the hard route for me but it seems everything i do is the hard route in life and there's always someone standing in my way somewhere along the road, however i'm at a stage in life that if your in my way your going to be steamrollered because unless you have something constructive or positive to say, you can make like a tree.
