come on guys, surely the point of the forum is for people to ask questions without fear of being ridiculed, we all start somewhere and at least they are asking instead of doing which I personally would prefer them to do!

It's like being at the trade counter & these poor soles come in trying to order stuffHe should start but not referring to a consumer unit as a "day or night rate box".

The point of this site is to be a forum for electricians to talk, share ideas, ask questions etc.
The title of the site kind of gives this away.
If someone who is not an electrician comes here and asks for advice then they may not get quite what they wanted, especially if they are a victim of the 'domestic installer course' training scams.
It is probably not their fault that they have been conned into doing a course which has not qualified them to do electrical work but the fact remains that they do not have the skill or knowledge to carry out electrical work in people's homes.

Would you want a so called "part p" qualified person replacing your distribution board ? I thought so, who would? the whole thing stinks and it needs to be extinguished, the skill centres need to stop calling it a qualification and they need to start reffering to it as "a building regulation" after all thats all it is, I am aware of the building regs for roof extentions, but I wouldn't call myself qualified to rip someones roof off and alter the structure lol, come on you see our point, we cannot all be wrong can we?come on guys, surely the point of the forum is for people to ask questions without fear of being ridiculed, we all start somewhere and at least they are asking instead of doing which I personally would prefer them to do!
