new house guys with a new heating system through mcs real scheme

3 phase supply run into house the pump is the only piece of equipment requiring 3phase ,

question is looking for best way to do this was thinking give the house itself the normal dual rcd db then from 3phase mains to lucy blocks fuse down for pump.

pump is situated in the same location as main cable head ,

4kw 32a 3phase supply required via rotary isolator


any views ?

If you have a three phase supply you really have to balance the phases, (I mean REALLY) So the single phase board and 3 phase switchfuse idea is out. The only way to do this is a 3 phase DB with rcbo's.
You will need to consider how to split the load, how tot make sure the accessories/equipment of circuits on different phases don't end up with touching distance of each other etc. etc.

You could maybe make your client get a single phase supply for the house and 3 phase supply just for heat pump?

theres already one house on estate thats done the way i described although i havent seen it yet , the pump is only 4kw , the house only has sockets lights and cooker no electric showers etc and all led lighting , i cant see there being much of a problem doing it that way

4KW 32A? In first post you said it needed 32A supply?
The other house sounds like a bodge done by a bodging domestic sparks, you need to balance phases.

Does the system also have Immersion heaters to top up the water temperature, would explain the 32amp supply?

That's what i was thinking.4kw compressor but then fans, elements, control. Still seem a lot over three phases dosent it.

well a 4kw 3 phase would only require 1.33kw per phase so a 6A 3 phase supply. A 32 A (per phase) heat pump is BIG, but this is the only reason you would want to supply a domestic gaff with 3 phase surely?

No need to balance the loads on a domestic 3Ph supply.

If there’s more houses to go on this system just make sure each house is on a different phase. Don’t do the usual trick of all single phase loads being dumped on the red phase.

Basic tp+n db like maybe a 4way, taking the main supply and has a breaker for the pump. (possibly then into an adjoining enclosure like a 4 module Sentry, for RCD, if required.)
Then a sp 63a mcb on L2 to feed a consumer unit also adj.
4 ways used and 8 permanent blanks.

A heat pump mate, not a central heating pump. As in air to air or air to water.
