i noticed that the BGB is also available in pdf format, something i think is a great idea. i plan to eventually get a tablet so that all my books and forms can be easily carried around, and easily searched and referenced. i hope to get one that i can edit using a stylus, thereby enabling the tablet to essentially be a mobile office.
only thing though, is that the pdf version is also expensive. the IET have this package available:

i would have thought that the pdf would be cheaper as there are no printing costs, but there you go.
i'm of the opinion that all the books need to be kept updated and therefore we need to keep buying and reading them all. i actually currently have GN8 on my bedside table and am reading it every evening, and the regs book is out on the kitchen table permanently. they could be cheaper, no denying it, but look at what other trades and professions have to pay for the same thing. i know the accountants stuff is in a state of perpetual change and they get "updates" on an almost weekly basis. my sister in law is a doctor and all her books are literally hundreds of pounds each. its just the way it goes if you want to keep on top of your game.
