Can't understand how experienced sparks do this

I always sleeve or tape the numbered cores as you can't guarantee how different sparks will connect them. I use 1-3 as L1-L3, 4 neutral & 5 earth, but some one else may think the earth is most important so should be core 1!

If its someone elses work. Check both ends, trust know one.
Cable IDs and the way there interpreted are in the eye of the beholder, (sad but true)
I came across multi core sleeved green and yellow one end and connected to the neutral the other.
Sh*t happens.
 
Regardless of the chat about what colours to use, anyone connecting a black as a neutral with modern colours should be dismissed immediately IMO, nothing else to add :tongue3:

It would certainly heat up faster at 240V! I have a large 240-120V transformer to power my American kitchen appliances here.
