So bit random but been to look at a new shop that has tanks with those fish that you stick your feet in, and they eat the dead skin off them.

The tanks require power and come with a short length of flex (approx 600mm) and plug top. In my opinion these tanks would be classed as a bath tub as a proportion of your body would be submerged.

What are others thoughts?

Install sockets greater than 3m away?

You didn't understand the relevance of the answer, bit too young possibly, lol Bathtub and room were not always linked
I'm pretty sure the regs relating to tin baths in kitchens were done away with a few years ago, but I suppose it's a similar principle.
This thing sounds to me more like a foot spa than a bath or hot tub.

I have rigged a similar arrangement at home, where i suspend myself in a harness, brush gravy-browning on to my skin, and four fox cubs lick me clean....

Does that make my parlour a "special location"? :icon12:

I'm from Yorkshire and so obviously use a tin bath in the front room. Should I bond this, and if so what size wire should I use. Thanks. Daz

you need to protect the fish so they do not become conductive,so I would suggest you bound all tails to the boiler as per BG recommendations as this is not covered by the BYB, or the bosses at the NIC (they can re-wirte all regs because, because, because, there the wizard osssssssssssssssssssssssssss

I think the question has merit. A bathroom is deemed a special location because any shock received is more likely to be fatal because the person is likely to have wet hands and/or feet. If the fish spar has customers who are likely to have wet hands and feet I'd seriously consider deeming it an equally hazardous location.

True, but to say that special location 701 and all it's rules apply to this situation would be using the special location out of it's context and intention. Special measures may have to be taken into account due to the nature of the situation, but the regs cover this in different areas in more general terms. It's one of those times that requires experience and knowledge of best application of the regs to result in an appropriate installation.

Isn't the context and intention of the 701 regs about protecting the person who's at higher risk of death from shock due to being wet?

702 may be more appropriate than 701 though.
701 is locations containing a bath or shower (including bath tubs, showers and birthing pools)
702 is swimming pools and other basins (including swimming pools, fountains and paddling pools)

This application isn't a far cry from a paddling pool I shouldn't have thought.

But you could consider it to be more alike to a hottub installation, the advice for these is to use 702 if outdoors and 701 if indoors.
