From first enquiry to becoming nic domestic registered what is the time scale if everything is in place?

Hi f1ngerz, I sent my application to the niceic on the 18th July, phoned them today to see what was going on and they told me its a minimum 6 weeks until the assessor will be in contact. Then it could be another month until he visits, No wonder they are losing sparks to other organisations.

I was with Elecsa before and to be fair they saw me within a month, but most companies havent heard of them and so have decided to join the nic

still waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with elecsa, and though they are not as well known as the NICEIC, I have found them very easy to deal with and cheaper (I think) than the others. Customers don't understand anyway, so as long as you are legal it don't matter.

i don`t know if they still do it, but when i joined before when i payed the cash till them turning up it was 7 or 8 weeks but my membership started from the day i paid the cash. i know elecsa don`t start the membership till the day they assess you

the niceic state that you are not a member with them until the assessor approves your application, I was not dissapproving of Elecsa, they were very helpful, its just about that the nic are the most well known outfit and I find to get on to any approved contractor lists for companies they only want niceic contractors

still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats right about not being a member thats what annoyed me that say if you paid your cash in jan and did not get seen until march your membership would be re due in the jan. effectively loosing three months membership

I am not on any commision off elecsa lol.
I am sure that when I payed my dosh to elecsa my membership started immediately and my assessment followed after, I can only assume that this would mean that if you were to fail the assessment then the jobs registered in between would be void.
