Hi All,

I have two sites booked with the NICEIC but am now not doing anywork at the second site so just the one now, however i still have two examples of my work at this site. a consumer unit change and re-wired the garage. does anyone know if it is acceptable to have two examples of your work to show at the one site, instead of one example at two sites equaling two examples. Ifso can you show them both on the one certificate??

Manythanks

Kirk

cheers,

only need one major and one minor to show so got a job today to change a 1gang socket to a 2gang, issue a mwc and thats good enough i would think as to the extent of the major a simple socket change maybe very minor but i think it'll be ok for the assessment.

Yes Changing a 1 gang socket to a 2 gang is a Minor Works!:D

So what are you using as your major?

Well its now two 1g sockets being changed to 2g sockets.
as for the major i will use the other job originally planned to use for the both, which is a consumer unit change and a garage re-wire. who know's he might be happy enough with the first job not to bother seeing the second, it is only a socket change at the end of the day and the first job has got plenty of examples.

Cant remember the assessors name exactly but i think it was mike selby or sibley or something.... anyine had him before??

Cheers

So you're using a CU change and garage re-wire for you major! Was this a job for a customer or was it just for the assessment?

Was for a customer but family. and had planned to use it for the assessment before hand. they just want to see two examples of your work done through your company whether at your own home or a customer all the same. as long as it represents a true example of your work.

Think the assessors name was mike smelby, anyone had him before? does he take bribes?;)

My last assessor was Tim Hunt, who i thought was very good!

Hey flukey,

why would the garage not be accepted? The corner of the garage is ajoined to the house but that's it just the corner.

Cheers flukey,

would you class it as ajoined with just the corner of the garage ajoining the house.?
I have staked it so it is seperately earthed from the house!

I am wanting to get my Part P, can anyone advise of the pros and cons as to which part to join, ie nic, napit, elecsa etc

That's a big (and contested!) subject....I think there's a 'sticky' on the forum for this? I'll see if I can find it.

Checked. Well, there are many threads already. Enter "which scheme" into the search box and set aside some time to consider the various views there!

Round 1: I'm NICEIC. Not cheap but fairly efficient. Well know to the public (probably the best known actually).
