NICEIC Certification Scheme NICEIC inspection

Discuss NICEIC inspection in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

just think, If I decided not to renew with a scheme and my 16 year old daughter took the 7 day course, she could be in charge of any domestic work I do if she then joined a scheme, especially if she took the 5 day 17th edition course too, its just a total farce really, I still don't understand the third party thing, ridiculous.
no...not on is it....
and as far as this `third party signoff thing` is concerned Mike....well i`v got my re-assessment coming up soon....i`m gonna ask Gary about this...see what he says when he turns up.....

apparently a guy from the pub who has taken the 7 day course can be in charge of Tony or E54 if they carried out a domestic job if they weren't a member of a scheme and the guy from the pub was :laugh3: , love it, the end of the trade has arrived, RIP 1890-2013 haha

I'm not and i would put money on Tony not being part of any scheme provider too!! lol!! I'd say your not too far out, date wise on the demise of the trade either!! ..lol!!

You know what the answer will be, ......That'll be an extra ÂŁ--- Sir!!!

Have to say bit stunned by some of the responses who appear to have jumped on the Electrical Trainee 17 day course slanging bandwagon
For the record he left school at 16 did a 4yr aprentiship got 2330 2390 nvq etc then 4 yrs subbing on mainly commercial stuff and this is his 3rd assesment
Approved contractor and domestic installer
Thanks to those who offered words of encouragement to those who do what appears to be the norm on this site remember you we're young once and at the end of the day slagging the schemes is undermining your own profession at the end of the day

Were not talking about your son at all, fair play to him, we are talking about others who think they are qualified, apologies the thread got crashed, were always talking about 7 day course takers and it just happens in lots of threads all the time, no offence to your son.

were not havin a go fella....
its just we see a lot of down rite dangerous installs carried out by supposed `competant persons`....who...and i have to say this.....when you scratch beneath the surface its obvious they are just Electrical Trainee with no real knowledge at all.....now, i`m all for anyone wantin to better themselves....but theres many about thats undertaking work that their not capable of carrying out in a safe and competant manner (not at their stage of development anyway)....but they just will do it anyway....rather than shadow someone first to get the lowdown....

No-ones having a pop at your son, especially if he has gone about his training in the traditional and correct manner. Though i'm not quite sure why you were surprised at him passing his 3rd assessment though??

As for your last comment, you couldn't be more wrong i'm afraid, as it's actually these scheme providers that's undermining our once proud and highly respected profession, almost to the point where any Tom Dick or Harry can now call himself an electrician.
