EICR - Single main bond 10mm2 from MET to gas to water, but it's "broken" at the gas clamp. Code 3 for me, but you........?

Regards.

i'll concede that, murduch, but i'd still make a note "improvement recommended".

Still not a C3 though.

Not trying to score points but people shouldn't be issueing codes on EICR's against things that don't need them.

That said the recent update of the BGB should have changed this so that all NEW installations could have continuous cables where the bonding is "shared".

Thanks for the responses guys - had a bit of a debate about this and hence the question. I agree Telex/Archy about the "crimp it, sorted", but as that's not always possible, I was keen to have the views of others on code or not, and if code, what.

Not breaking any regulations, either past or present so ...NO CODE!!

as long as the main bonding conductor is continuous to the rod........ :ihih:

and i'll admit defeat . should have looked it up before engaging fingers.

In industrial situations, it's common to link to other services using lugs, and also common to use earth marshalling terminals, where local extraneous metalwork is bonded. This may then be daisy chained via other EMTs to the MET.
I see nothing wrong with this and would not code it.
