hi,im trying to connect non maintained emrgency light wire to 1 gang way switch the 3 core wire is connected from light board L,N,E but i dont know where to connect it on 1 gang way switch it has COMM,L1,L2 showing on switch im looking for diagram this will make it easier for me please help.cheers

It does not need to be switched, its either feed from the lighting fuse or the nearest loop feed fitting, why dont you get a spark to wire it for you, not an expensive job

I don't whether to laugh or cry....

Is there a secret college where people go to learn utter numptyness?

Mike123 I am sorry that you do not seem to realise what you are asking.
Unfortunately you have taken your flex to the wrong point, the emergency light needs a permanent power supply that comes from the local lighting circuit (it can have a key switch if required for testing), this is not available at that switch. Your flex should be taken either to a light fitting or back to the circuit breaker supplying the local lighting and connected to the permanent supply.

Try reading and understanding this thread (it is old but still contains the basic principles).
If this does not make sense then please ask someone with the required knowledge who is local to you to sort this issue.
