Hi all,
just a query regarding notifying building control i was just looking on my labc website to see about the notification process please tell me if i am right or wrong
my brother wants some work done New ccu outside light and garden lighting. i am not registered with a governing body but hope to be soon
on the Wigan council website it says i have to notify 2 days before? if not registered with said rip off merchants no names then i have to get a registered approved contractor to fill in the schedule of inspections and the schedule of test results???????? wot
I have 2382-10, 2393, 2377 and logic full and defined scope level a,b,c award also just done 2391-10 waiting for results I was under the impression i have to certify my own work and no one else can
i want to use these jobs to register with elecsa and i am not charging my brother to do this work, and i am deffinately not paying labc, a approved contractor and then elecsa for one job this cant be right can it??????
please can someone tell me if i can register with elecsa use this job for assessment and just notify through them

some more pics:eek:
the next to last one question my brother ( kid can ya sort the outside light out me yeah when i learn to levitate lol ) was put there before conservatory an dthe last pic he said i want some garden lights can you fix to fence as i keep running solar ones over with petrol lawnmower I said kid i dont think i can fix armour or lights to fence as its a temporary structure but said i will check
I told him i need to run armour underground at least 450mm with tape at 150mm over it and the lights for the borders are either on spikes or in the ground which he will still probably wipe out with the mower lol

Hi guys
My brother wants a outside light fitting to the rear of the property before 24th aug as you ca see in pics there is a conservatory so my only possible routes are in the new extension to the kitchen in the rafters. or from the attic where there is a existing outside light supplied from there

Is a outside light notifiable if i take it from a fused spur and run in plastic conduit over the new kitchen and out to a ip56 switch and then on upto the flood may have to use a adaptable box with flex to the light. think its not notifiable if there are no outside connections but there will be if i use outside switch and adaptable box

is it ok to wire it in 1.0mm T/E from sw spur to switch then flex to light or just use a adaptable box and flex from there
or can you recommend a better way

I am getting a isolator fitted so i can change ccu and wylex fuse board and use these jobs for elecsa sorry guys if its a bit basic stuff but just want to check I am going tomorrow waiting for supplier so will get more pics then cheers for any advice
