I’m currently retraining, completed level 2, intended to do level 3 then NVQ. It seems nobody will hire you without the NVQ & experience so I don’t know how I’d manage to complete the NVQ. It has me questioning whether it’s even worth pursuing level 3 and retraining?

I guess the alternative would be an apprenticeship but I don’t want to re-do the level 2 work and imagine most places will hire younger apprentices who they can pay less & they get more from the government.

My background includes some technical work in the army but no electrics.
Thanks

At the moment I think the problem is needing 1 or 2 days per week for college for the level 3 but it seems after that employers are still wanting you to already have the NVQ.

Other than electricians mate / electricians labourer roles is there any other job title I should search for or best ways to get experience?
