As the title suggests, for those of us who have retired, or cut back on their working practices, taking into account drinking smoking and unrelated activities.
Myself I have become a volunteer for Age UK, although nothing much has come my way just yet, I have also expored the possibility of becoming a, wait for it, don't jump down my throat just yet, an Apprentice Smart Meter dual Service fitter, which I await a reply with anticipation, (as Tel would say Age is just a number) I'll keep you all posted, if you are interested.
It would be nice to know if there are any like minded Codgers out there who would like to share their twilight fantasies, Memories, anecdotes they would like to share, I myself have penned an article about my life as an Electrician, for which I am awaiting advice about publication, so if you oldies have some stories please share them on the Forum.

That's f****g awful, that. Sorry - depress mode, never got it myself.
It was a song about religion being forced upon people, if you look into the lyrics and the meaning that a song is trying to portray then maybe you'd have a better understanding.

I bet your favourite lyrics are Agadoo doo doo push pineapple shake the tree

Well, what can I say. It just goes to show what these forums are about, really. That statement, about a guy like me, so steeped in love and involvement in music from the age of about 14 to current times, is just about the biggest load of ---- I have ever had levelled at me. I will have you know that I have seen some of the biggest, and smallest bands this great musical country has produced, including a Rolling Stones concert in which a number of women actually gave birth, so I am told. I have seen them all mate, been there, got the shirts, Zeppelin, B Sabbath, Neil Young, Genesis, and many other varied artists like Laura Marling and even Judie Tzuke just the other month. You are talking out of your arse. I do have to say though, I never went to a depech mode concert, thank heavens. Aga f****k doo, you plonka.

Don't be a pr!ck I have seen more bands then the times you have pulled your todger, spent a good few years working records labels and enough years at Jools Holland and remember getting ---- faced with Ronnie Woods and J Kay at an after show and many others. Calling someone a plonk is fighting talk so wind your neck in.

Apologies though as I never knew your age, you must have been more of a Wurzle Gummage fan.

:p:p:p:D:D:D:D

Paul Kossoff from Free a mediocre guitarist who liked substances that in the end killed him. If thats your hero then you are welcome to him and you should aim higher.

The person that I admired the most was Bowie and I at least had the pleasure of working with him and a few others including Alice Cooper and George Michael.

Don't cry me a river in to your Bovril as it may spill over and rust your zimmer frame.

Why do you think it's clever to make comments about zimmer frames? You sound like a keyboard warrior, to be quite honest.
I do have a Yamaha Digital Piano at home as well as a Korg Synth if thats the keyboards you are talking about....... ;o)))

Also a few years back ended up having lunch with Peter Gabriel in a pub in Maida Vale, nice chap, doesn't remember you though.....

Depeche Mode did loads of great songs.... each to their own.
Blasphemous Rumours is one of them... I agree with @SWD comment about what the songs contents.
