Electricity meters are being developed to send readings via sms under the GSM mobile system and alternative protocols / systems.
In the near future Solar installers or alternative may start installing electric meters with this capability.
These meters will send sms's to a central system or upload data via a local WAN, which will be capable of uploading data to energy monitoring sites.
Solar generation users will be able to view their electrical generation via PVoutput.org or alternative site.
Solar customers and installers will be able to monitor their solar systems more effectively via sites like h**p://www.solarstats.co.uk or h**p://www.pvoutput.org.

i posted something similar yesterday and someone has recommended Orsis. I was thinking of the Webbox but as was pointed out, it relies on a web connection and will need resetting should the connection/power cut out.
