Hello everyone
Am looking to complete my 17th edition and part p domestic installers very soon at PASS in stockton, ive looked into many many places and as well as been local to me it also seems to be the best around, am wondering if anyone has completed courses through PASS and can give me any advice before i spend my money, or have any information on any more courses thanks

I have been to this centre and done a couple of stand in days as a trainer there and their facilities are very good. I've used them for calibration and test equipment also..
I do however have one problem with them and that is their work. The company also does testing and inspection services up and down the country and I was contacted with regard to doing some work for them to which I was introduced to their 'Bronze, Silver & Gold' price structure and 'target system'. Their 'ethics' at carrying out the work they train others to do is absolutely disgraceful. I very nearly reported them to the ECA but just cut myself off completely instead.

So, in your experience/opinion, does the work they do for the testing and inspection jobs have any bearing on the standard they teach you? (or expect you to achieve as a student)?

I haven't had any 'teachings' from them so I couldn't answer that question, I stood in a delivered courses myself there. But their opinion that it is acceptable to skip on R1&R2 measurements and calculate them instead from Zs figure raised alarm bells from me. I challenged them about it but it fell on deaf ears.

I'm bringing back this old thread as I have now been offered the position of 'head of electrical training' with PASS.

I could have just requested my prior posts be removed but I have already put plans through and my previous observations have now been acted upon.

Good luck working in Stockton, I worked up there for a few years and the general standard of wiring is terrible!

Think there must have been a dodgy gang of sparks roaming about 20 years ago, they certainly kept me busy lol.

That aside, all the best and wish you success whatever you decide to do ;)
