When looking at the job. One consumer unit was filthy. dirty mits all over it .Clearly using breakers as general switches. Do you think some switches should be added. Am i right in saying breakers should not be used by staff in this way?

Can a BS 60898/61009 device be used as a functional switch?

You are the inspector....

company came in at £2500 per premises. 1 year contract to do all their premises. i think there are 11 or 12 nationwide. cant compete with that.

Hi Sp4rk13 If you win this fife job and would like a wee hand on the job i would value some first hand on site experience ,i am currently doing the 2391 course and based in kirkcaldy.Good goffa and splosh maker and could maybe assist with writing doon test results etc.

think its more likely that they are either just after remedial work , or that theey consider it to economicaly viable due to the age of installation and apparent documentation available , but i know that companies will do it for this sort of low price , it wont be good work of course

interesting thread, trying to price something similar but not such a large scale although if i counted every circuit on site probably not far of the 285 count.
I have job on a day rate although most of it will be weekends.
I do some work at a secondary school about 1500 kids, they are going with a cost of just over 8k for a full periodic. Its a mixture of buildings old and new and everyboard seems to be Crabtree Polstar.Saw some of the previous results and they failed to pick up a 3 phase DB board only actually having a single phase supply.Although conductor size was large enough to handle current demand the fact that the line had just been linked from L1 to L2and then to L3 ,I thought should have been highlighted.
Shame you lost out

Which regulation would you quote for a 3-phase DB with the phases linked?

Absolutely nothing wrong with this and I'd be suspicious if I saw that 'coded' or even mentioned on a PIR!

There is no requirement even for a label, I notice Square D no longer supply a label with their linking kit.
