I've came across and worked on quite a bit of really old equipment
The job that stands out for me is a disused underground station that I was sent to do a condition report on.
Switchgear and distribution boards from circa 1907 still in use, with some obvious additions over the years.. The DBs are all Siemens, the switchgear is various names I've never heard of.... Saunders Wednesbury... Superior...

Is that BS951 clamp clamped over the sheath as well?!

Hard to tell, might be being a bit harsh!

It is indeed a BS951 clamp, the cable now looks disconnected, but i bet the hole cut for it, in the switch fuse is still there and left open!! ...lol!!

Harsh, I'd of kicked the smuk all the way up to the surface!! God knows how those other assumed temporary cables have been connected into the system??

the last people to touch the old underground fittings are probably long gone with old age......it's amazing how well things get preserved in places like that where they are either forgotten about or it is far too bothersome to get to them, a lot of the time in old industrial and transport locations, old buildings etc, things just get left behind, fall into disuse and get disconnected, then get sealed away/bricked up/boarded over and forgotten....
If you take a look on google for Subbrit UK you will find a website about underground tunnels etc, the London Underground is on there where people go down to look around...

How on earth did the tagger TOX get in there? saw a programme on the transport police a few years back and they finally caught him some spotty 16 year old who apparently was the most prolific tagger on the london rail system, apparently the bill for his work ran into many thousands.

I see Tox tags EVERYWHERE.

I work for an event power team during the season, and at the Glasto, there was a venue called 'London Underground', a sort of dingy london based night club down in the trash city zone, and all the external walls were even covered in Tox tags, I couldn't believe it.

Not only does this dude tag in London, but hes bothered to walk up the rail lane about 10 miles north out of London and tag all those walls too! Boy needs to get a job

Don't worry, I'm not going to stick it in the car! Good that it's being preserved though. There's a couple of nice distribution panels that have been preserved in steam museums. Knife switches, voltage regulators, nice big round meters - can't beat it. Daz

While looking for the meter room in a large Guernsey hotel today, I discovered this wall full of old switch fuses. Double pole fusing, by the look of it :). I don't think its still in use, but impressive nonetheless :) Can anyone hazard a guess to its age?
