I've came across and worked on quite a bit of really old equipment
The job that stands out for me is a disused underground station that I was sent to do a condition report on.
Switchgear and distribution boards from circa 1907 still in use, with some obvious additions over the years.. The DBs are all Siemens, the switchgear is various names I've never heard of.... Saunders Wednesbury... Superior...

Don't know about old, but it's definately council!
Skeleton units usually 1950's onwards

Spot on, ...actually first were around 49ish so say 1950. First brought in for the numerous new council housing projects to rehouse those families from the inner cities that were severely bombed during WW11, to outlying areas around those cities.... Literary 100's of thousands were installed in both flats and houses, including my parents old property!! lol!!

All those early properties had the first 13A socket outlets, by Dorman Smith, which had round pins the live pin being the fuse. (a screw in affair) As we know the design didn't last very long, and the modern configuration we all know, soon became the UK standard!! MK, made a direct replacement for those original DS outlets, which were based around round BESA back boxes, ...as were the switches!!

Here endeth my brief nostalgic look back to the past!! lol!!
