Well nothing specific but I struggle to tell 4mm from 6mm or 1.5mm to 2.5mm. Just thought I'd would be a useful thing to have just to be absolutely sure. Especially if I'm doing calculations because it would make a massive difference
 
I think you need to try to get to know by sight the different cable sizes perhaps use the plastic guide for a safety net just to confirm, if not you will get too reliant on it.I know what you mean regarding different sizes as some cables have thicker insulation than others.

Get yourself some offcuts, eye crimp one end, and make up a key ring of samples to help you through your training.
