Normally there are different levels of access to a program depending upon the program.

But basically there are 3 levels the first where you can see what the program is doing but cannot change the program and the second where you can change certain parts of the program eg inputs and outputs and the third is the total writing of the program.

It sounds like you do not have a access code to check anything, if you have a hard copy of the program then check to see if you have an output at the required terminal to operate the necessary process.

no telecom

Whats telecom got to do with it, when you where asked about coms cable he meant is it a RJ45, RS232 or similar cable?

Do you know what you are doing as if you make an alteration to the program and it stops working I think you could be looking for a new job.

OK,

So Mitsubishi are you using GX developer software and a red comms cable ( does it have a 'D' connector or a round connector on the CPU of the PLC?

engmnabil, your info given on this problem has been second to none, fantastic, really helpful!

You will no doubt find the failed output to be u/s, goosed, knackered, capput, shagged!

Due to the fact that your evidence has been poor along with your idea of what the fault could be, my crystal ball says to me that the output is probably a relay signalling a solenoid and it's burnt up.

Unfortunately unless you have the software and sc09 lead to access the plc program, plus the competence to make the desired change, which would be to assign a spare output, then there's little chance of you doing anything to resolve it.

Perhaps you should have an automation engineer/systems intergrator come in and correct the problem.

Please feel free to prove me wrong!
