quick question- when you buy a brand new corded drill, Bosch 2-26 DRE in my case, should it come with instructions?

insert bit, press on wall, press trigger. stop when you hit a water or gas pipe. what more instruction do you want?

I want to know if instructions come with a new drill because Iv just recieved the one that I bought on ebay 3 days ago and I can tell its a fake,im near sure it is. So does new drills come with instructions

I have reasons for it being a fake

1. no instructions, came with some bits
2.Wrong model printed on drill and also Lettering of "Bosch" not aligned
3.plugtap not screwed on fully
4.had chineese symbols on the masking tape on wrapping!
5.seller had an email that ended with .RU (Russian) although based in England.
6. the biggest defect of all- the handle still turns when fully tightened

I didnt even know you could sell fakes on ebay, the guy had over 600 positive feedbacks though, that made me think it was ok.
Iv plugged it in and tried it, goes and feels v powerful but have not used any bits yet as I may have to keep it unused
do you want the link on ebay so you can see for yourselfs

so many brands are faked. Even Milwaukee etc !!! I see so much of the fake Makita ate car boot sales etc .

Sellers have worked out that its "easier" to sell as "S/H " and splat a bit of dirt and paint around the unit and case etc, bit of dust and a few odd bits etc . Its only when you get it home you know !!

Post the ebay link, lets us see.

Sounds dodgy to me. Never had any decent brand of powertool with chinese markings on it. Get in touch with Bosch and they'll tell you

Theres no way on this earth that a new UK spec drill is going to have a plug thats not moulded onto the lead.

The fact that the drill has the DFR model on it but the instructions are for the DRE would of made me send it back or report it to paypal or ebay.

120 quid isn't that cheap either if its onlt the DRE model

I dont know what to do with the damn thing now,I was planning to use it tomarrow and all, Iv sent the seller a msg about how to put the chuck together to test if he responds, that he did then I sent another about the possibilty of the drill being not genuine , of course no reply.
I cant find any pics of this drill with a moulded plug, also the DRE model is on ebay for between 120 and 160 so that is the normal price for a genuine one

could be a import and he had to change the plug.

far too little info or pics to see if its fake.

Do you think Bosch would ever screw up by putting the wrong model on the case of a drill? and then flogging them, I first thought that, and that was the reason for selling cheaply compared to others on ebay

Probably not.

Ring Bosch and get all the answers you need. They should even be able to check the S/N to see if its genuine.

I bought a Bosch grinder from ebay, it came with a Euro plug attached. The auction stated this and I changed it myself.

I have bought quite a few tools off Ebay and never had any problems. Just make sure you read all the description as some may be for spares or just bare units with no battery or no charger!
