Instead of backing it off why not change it a little. All new sign ups get a capcha to prove they're not part of a bot net and once that's proven that's the end of it.

There you go ... a bit of good sound common sense from a Geordie - as usual.

I think a lot of the problems, especially with new members are because uploading images his been disabled for anyone below the level of Arms Member as a necessary security step at the moment.
