Pull cord switch - cooker isolation?

Wouod it be possible to use one of these for cooker isolation instead of a wall mounted switch?

A pull switch in place of a cooker control unit , ....Why because it's easier!!!! My God what this industry coming too!!

Nothing wrong with "thinking outside the box", even if eventually you reach the conclusion that the "standard" way is still the best (for a variety of sound reasons).

There's thinking outside of the box, and then there is just outright stupidity!! A pull switch, acting as a CCU for ease of installation, falls solidly in the later....
