Push wire switches & sockets

With push wire connector blocks, and mostly every light now coming with a push wire connector, is there switches and sockets with this built in ? Or can you see it being done in the future ? Or is there reasons why it cant be done? I had a look and cant see anything

Seen it on commando sockets, not on 13A sockets though.

Seen American receptacle outlets come with push fit tabs at the back but they also come with screw terminals as well

It's a good idea, that I think will come out soon from the huge manufacturers. The tooling & testing cost is fairly massive. I looked at it, but out of our range at the moment. Probably a 2 year development, so some may be launching soon.

My old house built in the 1980's, had push fit terminals on light switches. Not sure socket outlets should have push fit connections; only thinking when pushing back socket into back box and what effect that might have on push fit terminals and larger conductors?

Most push fit terminals only suit a single conductor. Light fittings come with 2 for each, so you can loop in and out.

Sockets would need 3...
2 for rfc and a spare for possible spur off.

What about mcb or rcbo’s with push fit?
Wouldn’t need to worry about overtightening screw terminals without a torque driver

I really do not like these, having tried a few in 16A and 32A single phase flavours and experienced loose connections over time and resulting overheating. Whilst push in connectors may be suitable for some static applications, IMO there's no home for them in the world of temporary power. IEC60309 connectors with double screws to tighten at each termination are still the way to go.

I think Crabtree had a switch range that had push-in terminals.

French F Type sockets seem to be push fit with loop in/out. We did a trailer for a French customer.

They were a complete pain in the arse, I had ran 20A radials in 2.5mm flex.

The 2.5 was too big to fit correctly into the terminals!! So ended using lever wago's behind with 1.5 going into the sockets.

Maybe solid core may have been ok, but with flex it would just pull back out easily.

Much prefer screw terminals!
