Burnt Fingers

Been PT testing last week (yawn) and have a odd one:

13A Double Socket with a 2.5mm running 10" toa 16A Comando Socket, which feeds a circuar saw. It needs to on a 16A socket or in winter, the inrush pops a 13A cartridge use. Its a ring main to the socket, protected by 20A Type B Mcb.

16A Socket is cracked so I want to replace it

I cannot find anythng in the regs but it feels wrong. Anyone wlling to give a helpful answer?

I wish - CU is a long way and thats beyond my remit. Appendix H3 OG states radial circuit but a radial from a 20A ring is, in effect a 20A radial so i think by my interpretation its within regs, but the regs dont say much and it just looks odd to me.. sat there next to a double 13A socket

But the only problem is the saw blowing a 13amp fuse, yes? Is the saw suitable to be fused up to 20 amps, as if you add the 16amp commando socket to the ring, it will then only be protected by the OPCD.

In fact, in light of this, I retract my earlier advice to add the commando to the ring. If the appliance is supplied with a 13amp plug top, then that surely is there for a reason.
