Silly question but, when designing your final circuits did you have to calculate the voltage drop in the main supply cables from the service head to the main distribution board?

I know it will be bugger all but just wondering if your tutor asked this of you?

I was only going to do from the Main distribution board / control panel onwards but don't want to spend hours crunching numbers only to have to re-do it all.

Thanks

Here you go, it just makes life easier when designing your final circuits to have the information such as DB VD and Zdb close to hand.

What's the project out of interest? Mine was a modest community centre when I sat it in 2016!

The forum software won't allow me to upload an Excel spreadsheet but here's a link for Google drive: 2396 DB Layout.xlsx - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KAiYDGB2kLM-V9byF618aQIKSBdxgG1S/view?usp=sharing

Nice one

You must design every circuit. However you may do it in any format you wish. Looks like the invigilator is trying to make life easy when it comes to marking.

You’re the designer, do it how you see fit.

I did all my individual circuit designs in word.

My thoughts exactly. The actual assignment only asks for 6 circuits to be fully designed. I was going to just fill out an EIC for the rest to show all the earth fault loop impedances but yeah it looks like I'm going to have to go above and beyond...

It's quite fun once you get in the flow of it.
