Question - I want to change the use of something... can it be done?

I have a question.

I currently have a wall mounted ventilation fan in my main bathroom. it doesn't vent to the outside cos the numpty builders didn't bother to knock thru to the outside.

upon testing the fan, it doesn't work and I want to remove it completely. It's wired to a double switch (with the bathroom light) outside the bathroom door.

If I disconnect and remove the fan, could I re-route the existing wiring and bring it up into the loft and run a regular light fitting from it? Essentially so that I can put a light in the loft, as there isn't one already.

Thoughts and comments appreciated.

sorry to hijack this thread but i have a similar question?

my parents are changing there central heating system from a back boiler to a combi, the new boiler is going in the airing cupboard in the bathroom ( special location ) but can the wiring for the extinct immersion heater be used for the new boiler with out any coffullall ( not sure of spelling? ) ie i know there earth bonding is not up to date and the CU is really old, i intend to update when i gain my 17th and use has an install to register with governing body, just want some advise before the plumbers spark comes round huffing and puffing.

Parents are in there 70s and could be really easally conned?

I don't think that will be a problem.Make sure you change the fuse to 3 Amp
