Discuss Question regarding 4 pole MCB in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Nope... no RCD in the C/unit......open your mouth just a touch wider and you'll get your other foot in mate:)

Again, a perfectly reasonable assumption in this day of RCD'ing everything!! lol!!

Jesus, .... You still can't see the wood for the tree's can you, Your installation design isn't up to much, whether the CU has RCD protection or not!! You still have a local CU in a canteen, with a remote sub-distribution board that has the CU and whatever else is connected to the panels RCD protection!!!

The only one here that's opening their mouth, and having both their feet jump in, is yourself!!

Nope...........nothing else in the DB mate just the SWA to the C/unit which is about 3 metres away:)

Look, ....All this came about, from myself stating a reasonable comment on the use of front end RCD protection covering a 3 Phase DB. What i stated was and still is relevant, especially on an industrial installation.

There was nothing aimed or intended at you personally, it was just a straight forward statement end of!!

That's fair comment I'm just protecting myself from your assumption that my design was ill thought out and wrong without even knowing what it was.
I'm actually in the process of upgrading and changing a lot of my circuits but in the short term a C/unit fed from a DB with front end RCD protection is perfectly sound in my mind especially knowing the circuits it's feeding and it's location( and some of the a'oles that work here).
