questions for installation cert

Hi ,

Could someone answer the following for me? i don't have reg book handy and when i google i'm getting mixed answers.

1. maximum disconnection time for a type A rcd on a consumer unit at times 1 setting?

2. on a ring continuity test the readings i measured and put on cert were L-L 0.36 N-N 0.29. I have been told this is unacceptable as the difference can't be more that 0.05 ohms between L-L and N-N. Is this correct and if so where would i find this in the regs or onsite guide?

1. Assuming it is 61009 or 61008 then 300ms.
2. I don't believe there is a requirement stating this but morevrule of thumb. Your readings do warrant some investigation.

The 0.05 ohms comes from the OSG, I have not seen it in the regs book. Certainly if the readings obtained were for intial verification tests as suggested by the thread title they would not be acceptable, I would not be overly concerned however if these readings were on an existing circuit as part of an EICR.
