Quick Heat Question

Hi Guys

Just a quick one.. I have to extend a 6mm cooker socket slightly using crimps, my question is do I need to heat shrink all three wires and the outer sheath or just the outer sheath? I am using insulated butt connectors,

just ordered the scotch 3m tape from ebay thanks nickblake, its 6 days delivery

its for my house so not too bothered providing its safe but it will be buried in the wall

self amalgamating tape is excellent stuff also. its always handy to have some kicking about. i often use it on the crutch of large SWA cables.

Nothing better when sealing the crutch of SWA cables in high humidity of damp locations, than heatshrink trousers. All such SWA cables terminations, large or small are normally specified with such sealing on the projects i work on, look so much neater and professional too....

very true mate, but often you can only pee with the tools at your disposal. those heatshrink boots are excellent at sealing ducts that only contain a few cables.
