To be honest when you are learning I don't believe you can concentrate properly with earphones on and you can't hear potential dangers around you. In my eyes shouldn't be used on site at all.

I agree completely with this.

I was a Training Instructor in charge of 84 apprentices in an engineering company and I wouldn't want them with anything in or covering their ears other than approved ear protection.
 
but I don't mind you making tea with them on

not all work is on a site. quite often locked in room etc with key im my pocket.

besides we do a lot of bms which is mindless sometimes.


and dont usually listen to music etc when wondering around site etc as thats just stupied especially as a lot of stuff has been rushed/bodged to meet unrealistic deadlines
 
I've just read thos end to end and is it time for Dan to create a heading of "unacceptable" posts, which is obvious to new people to see?

If people are going to post like this chap, makes you wonder what they are like to their colleagues, bosses or worse still their clients
