Hello Guys

Looking for some advice with regards to a extension job. Customer has ordered a Rangemaster Induction Hob and Oven.

I've looked at the specification and it states that potential full load is 14.8Kw. My initial plan was to run a 10mm Twin and Earth but I'm wondering if it would potentially need a 16mm. I understand diversity applies to cooker circuits and its full load will likely not be ever used but was looking for a bit of advice. Would 16mm supply cable be over kill.

Thanks

Diversity will apply. Have a read of the chapter in the OSG on max demand and diversity. From that, you should be able to calculate a design current for the circuit, and from there be able to design your circuit. Also have a look at manufacturer's instructions regarding maximum conductor sizes, suggested protective device etc.

I've just checked the manufacturers installation booklet again

I've just checked the manufacturers Instruction and it states a 45Amp Fuse Rating. Nothing about size of conductor but a 10mm should be suffice on a 50amp RCBO.

Cheers for the pointer👍

Done a quick calculation as per Page 122 of OSG and it should pull in 27 Amps with Diversity applied.
