Ha ha fair point..I'm just hungover so think early finish is on the cards.. Ain't really achieved anything today if I'm being honest.

I can't knock the guy at TLC, he said himself that he has been an electrical contractor for over 30 years but was working there because it was getting harder out contracting, he said himself at least while he is behind the counter he has a regular income. My tester was calibrated only 6 weeks ago. I went back today and have got another RCD, I'm going to wire it in to my house on a non RCD circuit and test it before changing it.

I'm really grateful to everyone that has posted and responded to my original post, I have until yesterday been only an observer to topics on this site but have found plenty of answers to many queries in the past. Thanks for taking the time to help me.

Was this a replacement part to begin with or install/upgrade,these results look to me as though you are testing at 30Ma on a 100ma rcd,the ramp test indicated >33ma so is it 100ma rcd?,covering everything,is it a tt supply? would not rush back to tlc just yet.

I would add though that a typical good TT rod of 100 ohms only needs 3V to have 30mA flowing and so trip an RCD, you might find that sort of N-E...
