Discuss rcd on commercial in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

only on metal hulled ships. with wooden hulled ships, they were TT, the anchor being the earth rod. when under sail, nelson had to do without his morning toast as the ship had no earth and health and safety wouldn't allow the electrics to be switched on. even an RCD would not have stopped him losing an arm and an eye, and finally getting shot.

I'm assuming from your sobriquet, that you may well have worked as an electrician in the Navy.
Not being an Andrew myself, I don't have much experience of on board electrics.
Considering how much water is about on boats and ships, how many RCDs were fitted on the boats and ships on which you served.
Dare I ask how many people serving in the Navy have been fried because of a lack of RCD protection?
No never been in the navy (I have a boat its 48ft long)
I run a company that specialises in Garage works shops and showrooms.
I would have thought that a ship with water in it would probably be sinking.
Do they not have special fittings with high IP ratings
May be fit them in to the show rooms? Or do you not think that situations with wet or damp floors need any extra consideration?
In Portsmouth, sparkies when they come across a botched job, say it must have been done by a docky or a skate

So you have a boat, but think that a ship with water in is sinking.
You have a company specialising in garages and showroms, but think an RCD is a requirement.

If you look in the bottom right corner you will see “Reply With Quote” if you click on this, it will put what I have written up, and then you could write something yourself and people would be able to read it.
Its very good idea saves a lot of time.:tongue3:

You use a forum but think the only way people can read what you have posted is for other people to quote you.
Anything else to add to the list?

So you can’t work the quote thing never mind (It’s really useful for you it will advance you’re trolling no end)
I have thought of a joke
What do housebashers have for lunch?

Oh go on you have got lots of chums who will join in as well( I crave attention)
What do housebashers have for lunch?
Several answers
1 Its in the green book, did you not find on your 17[SUP]th[/SUP] ed test?
2 Cheese and rockwall sarnies.
3 Ham and brick dust sarnies.
4 Nothing its to dark in the loft to find it.

My question about adding anything else to the list was rehtorical.
I really didn't expect you to come up with something else you don't have a clue about.
The list of things about which you haven't a clue so far:
boats,
electrics,
forums,
humour.
Anything else?

Housebashing obviously
OH OH I’ve just thought of another one.
How do you recognise a housebasher when he’s in the pound shop?

It applies to commercial if it shares the same supply as a dwelling.
