I isolated a lighting circuit, confirmed and locked off. Went to fixture, rechecked for any voltages using a combined clamp meter, looked good carried out removal.
Prior to this, customer upstairs working on laptop was warned I was working on the lighting circuit, but should not effect her work on laptop, but perhaps it may be wise to work from battery source of laptop only.....which was just as well!
Everything ok until I pull through cable to re-route and pop off goes main RCD.
Basically, I have since discovered checking with the meggar that I have 1volt on the neutral, so when it touched the CPC it knocked out the RCD, could be borrowed neutral, insulation problem or is it something else to do with TT systems, interested to know what you think and or am I just being thick .
Cheers , insults welcomed!
