I have a cafe to re-wire and they have 2 freezers that Iam going to wire dedicated sockets for. I dont want to put these with RCD. Will it be possible to use SY cable as opposed to SWA cable will be in plastic trunking surface. I was on the understanding has to be more than 50mm flush, steel conduit or earthed metal sheath, is this still the case with commercial property ? skilled commpetant opperators and all that. Thanks

Why not use T&E in trunking?

As long as the cable is surface, and the socket is labelled accordingly, then no RCD required.
