Hello all
if I am working in a kitchen and install a socket for a dishwasher or microwave and clearly label it does it still need rcd protection if it does can I get away with a fused spur for these or do I need an rcd fused spur ( no rcd at sockets)
I think I read in regs that its ok but cant find it

you can do this according to the regs as long as the socket outlet is labeled applience only not for normal use or is under supervision by a compitent person you still need to insure that the circuit complies ie the zs is low enough to diconect etc and your bonding is good. but i would always advise rcd protection for socket outlets especialy where water is concerned ie kitchens
