When should a socket in an Industrial situation be RCD protected and when not just that at my works some are some arnt despite the area being used by cleaners and there floor scrubbers Etc.I thought if sockets would be used by portable appliances then should be RCD protected.

the exemptions from rcd are if the sockets are used only by skilled or instructed persons, unfortunately a lot of people use this reg wrongly to avoid fitting rcd's the problem would come if someone was killed or injured, how would the person responsible prove that the sockets were only for use by skilled or instructed?
